Building community beyond undergraduate students
Graduate students represent a significant audience whose behaviors call for engagement throughout their entire academic journey. At Loma Linda University’s School of Behavioral Health, maintaining consistent interaction across the enrollment funnel ensures that graduate students are guided with confidence from the initial expression of interest to successful enrollment.
About Loma Linda
Loma Linda University is a private, faith-based health sciences university in Southern California, with a total enrollment of over 4,200 students across its eight schools.
The School of Behavioral Health prepares graduate students for meaningful careers in counseling, psychology, social work, and related fields, emphasizing whole-person care rooted in the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ. Students benefit from close mentoring, diverse clinical experiences, and a commitment to service that integrates scholarship, advanced clinical practice experiences, and whole person care for self and others.
The Challenge
Identifying the need for ongoing graduate engagement
The graduate enrollment funnel often looks very different from the undergraduate journey, and maintaining engagement with graduate students throughout that process can be especially challenging, frequently resulting in melt. Graduate students are balancing additional considerations such as family responsibilities, career commitments, and limited time, all of which can impact their decision to begin or continue a graduate program.
Loma Linda University’s School of Behavioral Health recognized these challenges and identified the need for a tool that could help keep graduate students engaged throughout the enrollment cycle. Melt was a particular concern, and they were actively looking for ways to address it.
The Solution
Turning engagement tools into measurable impact
Since partnering with ZeeMee in Spring 2024, Loma Linda University’s School of Behavioral Health has
focused on building an engaging, relevant community specifically for their graduate students. They’ve seen strong results using tools like bulk messaging and the ZeeMee Game Bot feature, and yes, graduate students still enjoy a game 😉.
These game nights have proven especially effective in driving engagement. Since this fall, Loma Linda University’s School of Behavioral Health has hosted five events, welcoming 125 student participants and generating more than 300 messages. By leveraging tools like live events and game bots, they’re creating meaningful opportunities for connection and sustained engagement throughout the enrollment cycle.
